Roll of Film

from $4.00

Currently In Stock: Ilford FP4 ISO 125, Ilford HP5 ISO 400, and Vision 3 200T

Recommendations:

FP4: Relatively slow sensitivity to light (it is good for pictures in bring conditions, and bad for low light conditions) so needs plenty of light for reasonable shutter speeds, so this film is great for sunny outdoor shots with very little grain. Not in full sun it will require longer exposures and may have more grain. Can be Pushed/Pulled.

HP5: More sensitive (faster) than the FP4 but still relatively middling in terms of ISOs available. This is great for sunny outdoors, but better for slightly overcast or indoor shooting. This is great for well lit indoor photoshoots, also low on grain in relatively neutral lighting, and is my go to since it can handle full sun slightly dim situations.

Vision 3: Vision 3 is cinema film intended for movies. Through a process very similar to c41 called ECN-2 we can develop this film. This is a low cost color film option thanks to the availability of 100 ft. rolls which I hand load into film canisters. The film is tungsten balanced which gives vibrant colors especially in indoor lighting, but outside pictures may have a slight blue cast. I remove the blue cast during scanning and printing.

Exposure Count:

I roll each cassette with enough rotations for 1 more than advertised so that if anything you always have at least the right amount. I fill these cannisters to the correct number of exposures using a special tool but it can vary some, and also just in case you pull out the lead too far.
